Our Story

Harvest Feeds 1872 is a woman owned local business, located at 5865 SW 176th Avenue, in Dunnellon, Florida. Co-Owners Courtney Carlson and Amy Buratti are equestrians who own and love horses. Most importantly, we understand the importance of feeding high quality hay. We strive to provide our customers with the highest quality hay.

Courtney is the founder of Harvest Feeds 1872. She has been riding and showing horses since she was a young girl. She is the owner and trainer of a Hunters and Jumpers barn in Ohio. Owning over 20 horses, she knows that hay is a vital part of their daily diet, and it needs to provide the horses with all the proper nutrients they need based on their discipline.

She was on a quest to find farmers who produce only the finest high-quality hay for her horses because of the large volume of hay her horses consumed. During this time, she developed relationships with many hay farmers who produce consistent, clean quality hay that her horses enjoy foraging on.

Courtney and Amy met because of their passion for riding horses. Amy has a 13 year old daughter, Ella. Ella loves horses, she rides and shows in Hunters and Jumpers. Amy spent the last 31 years in the corporate world. Amy wanted to be able to spend more time with her teenage daughter and wanted her to have the opportunity to show at WEC in Ocala.

Courtney and Amy are committed to selling premium hay that provides your horses with all of the proper nutrition they need. Stop in and check out our large variety of hay, Seminole Feed and Bedding.  We value our customers and want to build long term relationships. Come visit us at Harvest Feeds 1872!!!
